Frequently Asked Questions
What is a Naturopathic Doctor?
A licensed Naturopathic Doctor (ND) is a trained physician educated in both conventional medical sciences and evidence-informed natural therapies. NDs focus on identifying and addressing root causes rather than simply suppressing symptoms.
I combine modern diagnostics with clinical nutrition, lifestyle medicine, botanical medicine, nervous system support, and hands-on therapies to help restore balance and resilience in the body.
What conditions do you commonly treat?
My practice focuses primarily on:
Chronic pain (including musculoskeletal pain and complex pain patterns)
Headaches and migraines
Stress and nervous system dysregulation
Fatigue
Digestive concerns
Inflammatory and autoimmune conditions
Hormonal imbalances
If you’re unsure whether your concern fits, feel free to reach out.
What makes your approach to pain different?
Pain is rarely just structural. It involves the nervous system, inflammation, stress physiology, and often emotional load.
With over 20 years of experience as a massage therapist alongside my medical training, I bring a uniquely integrated approach to pain care, combining hands-on treatment, nervous system regulation, anti-inflammatory strategies, and targeted supplementation when appropriate. The goal is not just temporary relief, but long-term improvement in function and quality of life.
What should I expect at my first visit?
Your initial appointment is comprehensive. We review:
Your full health history
Current symptoms
Lifestyle factors (sleep, stress, diet, movement)
Lab work (if available)
Personal health goals
From there, we create a personalized plan that may include nutrition guidance, supplements, botanical medicine, manual therapies, lifestyle adjustments, or additional testing if needed.
Do you accept insurance?
I operate as a cash-based practice, which allows us to prioritise personalised, unrushed care without insurance limitations. If applicable, you may be able to use HSA or FSA funds. I can provide a superbill upon request.
Do you offer virtual appointments?
Yes. Telehealth visits are available for consultations, follow-ups, supplement guidance, and many chronic condition discussions. Some conditions, particularly those benefiting from hands-on therapies, are best addressed in person.
Do I have to take supplements?
Not necessarily.
Supplements are tools, not the foundation of care. When recommended, they are targeted, time-limited, and chosen carefully for safety and effectiveness. Lifestyle, nervous system support, nutrition, and structural balance are equally important parts of healing.
How long does it take to see results?
This depends on the condition and how long it has been present. Acute issues may respond quickly. Chronic or complex conditions often require gradual rebuilding and support.
Most patients begin noticing meaningful shifts within the first few visits when they follow the plan consistently.
Can you work alongside my other doctors?
Absolutely. Collaborative care is important. I am happy to coordinate with primary care providers, specialists, therapists, chiropractors, or other members of your healthcare team when appropriate.
Is naturopathic medicine evidence-based?
Yes. My recommendations are grounded in clinical research, traditional knowledge, and years of hands-on experience. I prioritise safety, thoughtful dosing, and clear rationale for every treatment recommendation.
How do I get started?
You can book an appointment directly through the website or schedule a brief discovery call if you’d like to make sure we’re a good fit. Healing is collaborative. If you’re ready to feel heard, supported, and empowered in your health, I would be honored to work with you.
